ABOUT DR. HEATHER 

Heather L. Fisher, Ed.D., has dedicated more than 25 years to education as a teacher, instructional leader, and educational consultant focused on school improvement and professional learning. She currently serves as Principal of Germantown Online Academy of Learning, where she leads the academic, operational, and strategic direction of the district’s virtual school while supporting teachers through professional development in online instruction and program innovation. Dr. Fisher previously served as Assistant Principal at Dogwood Elementary School and as a Master Teacher for Shelby County Schools, where she designed professional development programs and coached educators to strengthen instructional practice. Her leadership in the field of education has been recognized nationally through her selection as a Project Zero Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and she later co-founded Project Zero–Memphis to expand innovative professional learning opportunities for educators across the region. Dr. Fisher also served as President of the Shelby County Education Association, representing more than 8,000 educators, and was honored as Shelby County Teacher of the Year in 2013. In addition to her work in schools, she remains active in community leadership and educational advocacy, currently serving as Chair of the Education Commission and participating in Leadership Germantown.
